Crizal is a type of lens that provides anti-reflection, ease of cleaning, and durability to the wearer. You can have a Crizal lens plus another type of lens in one. For example, a Varilux® progressive lens can come with Crizal treatment. |

Crizal lenses should be dispensed with a Crizal Certificate of Authenticity and a Crizal cleaning cloth to ensure receipt of genuine Crizal lenses. If you did not receive both of these items, you should discuss this with your eye care professional. In addition to these items, all anti-reflective lenses possess slight reflectant color qualities which assist in identifying the brand. The reflective hue color for Crizal is a green-yellowish hue. To see this reflective color, take the eyeglasses off and hold them at an angle under a light such that a reflection will appear on the lenses. The reflection should be of a green yellowish hue if the lenses are indeed Crizal. |

Yes. Crizal lenses will eliminate the reflections from the surface of an ophthalmic lens and the glare associated with those reflections. The light originating from your computer screen will produce significant reflection and glare off the surface of your lenses, and the Crizal treatment to your lenses will virtually eliminate this. |

Crizal lenses let up to 99% of visible light through the lens –unlike regular lenses, that can reflect up to 20% of light and create glare. |

The hydrophobic properties of the Crizal facilitate the removal of smudges, dust, dirt, and fingerprints. With the superior reduction surface reflections that Crizal lenses provide, the smudges and fingerprints will seem to be more prevalent than with a non-coated lens. We recommend using the cleaning cloth that comes with each Crizal set of lenses. This cleaning cloth is the best material for cleaning lenses.
The best way to clean your lenses is by first rinsing your lenses under warm, running water to remove any sandy/gritty debris that could be dragged across the surface of the lenses during cleaning and potentially scratch your lenses. Clean with a mild liquid detergent (like Dawn® or Joy® dishwashing detergent) to remove facials oils, which if not removed, can smear across the lenses. Rinse with water. Then dry with a soft cotton cloth. Finish by polishing your lenses with the Crizal cleaning cloth provided to you. You can also use the Crizal cloth for “touch up” cleaning throughout the day when it is not convenient to wash the lenses.
Following the above cleaning method, the lenses should be easy to clean and maintain. |

Occasional use of alcohol on Crizal lenses will not be harmful. However, we do not recommend continuous, daily use of alcohol. Please see “How do I clean my Crizal lenses” for proper cleaning instructions. |

If you cannot remove the hairspray with a mild detergent wash (Joy® or Dawn® dishwashing liquid) and running water, we recommend taking your lenses to your eye care professional for evaluation and removal of the hairspray from your lenses.

If you cannot remove the paint with a mild detergent wash (Joy® or Dawn® dishwashing liquid) and running water, we recommend taking your lenses to your eye care professional for evaluation and removal of the paint from your lenses.

Any commercially prepared lens cleaner formulated to be used with anti-reflective lenses can be used with Crizal lenses. |

It is not advisable to store eyeglasses in your automobile (eg, leaving them on the dashboard of your car), especially in the warmer climates. It is potentially damaging to the lenses and to the frame. |

Transitions® lenses are available to be prepared with Crizal. Your eye care professional can arrange this for you. |

We have not tested the different anti-fog treatments to determine the effects of prolonged use on Crizal lenses, but do not believe it will harm the Crizal coating. However, due to the hydrophobic nature of Crizal lenses, you may find anti-fog preparations are not tremendously effective or long lasting. |

There is no UV protection from the Crizal treatment itself; UV protection would be a function of the material to which the Crizal treatment is applied. Most of the materials Crizal is available on offer the protection you need. Your eye care professional, with the knowledge of what material was used to prepare your lenses, can advise you on the specific UV protection for your current lenses. |

You may launder the cleaning cloth as usual. We would recommend that you do not use any laundry additives (such as fabric softener) which could leave a residue on the cloth. Otherwise, launder as usual or toss it into the washing machine.
